Be Well Lake County: Messaging and Media Outreach

Working jointly, NorthShore University HealthSystem and the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center developed a new comprehensive diabetes treatment program that positively impacted more than 400 diabetic patients. To support the program, they asked The Kineo Group to develop compelling messaging and secure media coverage in the metropolitan Chicago area. Kineo’s media experts reached out to 24 different media sources with story ideas and secured 15 placements that connected to an audience of over 600,000 people.

In addition, Kineo’s nonprofit leaders helped program organizers establish a fresh garden behind the Health Center that patients tended and harvested to supplement their diet. This story generated a two-minute segment on WGN-TV and several stories in community newspapers.
